Where does HMF get their cats and dogs from?

HMF works with several organizations and community members. Most of our adoptable pets are pulled from various local rescues, including Johnson County Animal Control and Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.

How much does it cost to adopt from HMF?

Dogs

  • $300 puppies up to 6 months
  • $175 adult dogs
  • $100 mature/medical/special needs

Cats

  • $100 kittens up to 5 months
  • $50 adult cats
  • $35 mature/medical/special needs

What all do we get for the adoption fee?

When you adopt an animal from HMF, the animal has already been microchipped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested and treated for common issues, including heartworm, intestinal worms, parasites, feline leukemia and FIV. All pets are also given a two-month supply of heartworm medicines.

How do I meet an HMF pet I see online?

To meet a pet you see online, you can contact HMF at adoptapet@hopemariesfund.org and let us know which particular animal you would like to meet. We hold a once-a-month adoption event, on the last Saturday, of every month, from 1-4pm, at Greenwood Pet Valu, at 5889 N. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN. It is also a good idea to go ahead and complete an application form, so HMF will have your best interests in mind. You can complete an Adoption Application.

Can I adopt from HMF if I live in another state?

Typically, HMF limits placing its adoptable pets within a 50 mile radius of Bargersville/Franklin, however there have been exceptions, if we can find another rescue to do the home visit. Not only does microchipping provide a way to help your furrbaby find his or her way back home, but it also provides proof of ownership.

Does HMF provide any warranty or guarantee?

No, HMF cannot provide any kind of warranty or guarantee on our animals. HMF pulls over many of our animals from local shelters, who are often surrendered from owners, without a comprehensive or truthful history. Unfortunately, due to this, many times the animal’s history is unknown. While we will try to provide you with as much detailed information as possible, it is impossible for us to make any guarantee.

Does HMF provide microchipping for other’s pets?

Bargersville Vet does provide microchipping for all pets, which we highly recommend everyone consider doing for their pet.
